Fish Physiological Adaptations
A lecture, and student seminar course focusing on physiological adaptations in fishes. Lectures will
address the diversity of physiological and anatomical adaptations that have enabled fishes to occupy a
wide variety of aquatic habitats. Specific topics to be examined will include swimming, respiration,
circulation, osmoregulation, growth and metabolism, nutrition, the senses, reproduction and development.
Prerequisites: BI256. BI358 strongly recommended.
